A.J. Ponder's Worlds of Adventure

Fantasy adventure

Hi,

I hope you’ve had an amazing week.

I've been busy with my job as convenor of Te Pae Tawhiti, interviewing our judges for the website, organising the convenor manual and just generally ticking off formatting jobs like Into Treachery for paperback. Now live! And Eileen Mueller's Dragon Battle paperback, which will be live soon! Not to mention the Dragon Transport and Pacification Society!

Also in exciting news, I've organized the art for the new covers of the Blood of the Fae series. The old covers were far too romancy for my books which are more adventure and magical creatures, so I'm looking forward to showing them to you with a very special sneak-peak preview next week!

But don't worry if you're still wanting to buy Into Treachery with the pretty Christian Bentulan cover, I've got you! I'm going to wait until after you've had a good month to pick it up once it's gone live.

Phew! So much busy work, I can't wait to immerse myself back into my worlds! I know Librarian Lawson is brewing tea and setting out teacakes right now in the library, and I'm keen to join her.

Also, I miss the dragons there, especially the library fae dragons, Ysta and Pela!

This week:

  • Safira: the blue dragon who protects my rock collection and the blue dragon egg she's still waiting to hatch.
  • Into the Underworld is now in paperback!
  • What I'm reading, The Coffee House Witch and the Grumpy Cat—by Ariana Jade
  • Two Sci Fi and Fantasy promotions
  • The cats: Maisie and Herbert

Are you collecting paperbacks of Blood of the Fae?

Then this is for you! The paperback for book 4 Into Treachery is out now!

A hellish rescue
A portal into the past
A disastrous raid on Mount Olympus

After her failed rescue of her father Aiden, Ruby returns to the Underworld to rescue her sister Pearl, and their friends Tailor and Hazel. This time when she faces the dread realm of Tartarus, Queen Persephone is still down there reconsidering her life choices. But is she changed enough to lend them a hand, when Hades’ cattle, expecting to feast on the dead, attack Ruby’s family and friends?

And will they be able to rescue their father, Aiden, trapped in the world tree? He doesn’t remember his family at all, but his long life as the wizard, Myrddin. The two nymphs with Aiden are determined that he shall not leave the safety of the tree. But why are they so worried? What was Aiden’s life as Myrddin really like? And why is he hiding in the Three Sisters’ Tree?

Pick up your copy of Into Treachery, the penultimate book in The Blood of the Fae series and witness the destruction of the DragonLands.

Safira

Safira is another dragon from the first age, having been with us for over thirty years and is captivated by anything bright and shiny. She loves being social with the other dragons in the house, but that's because they know better than to go near her collection of polished rocks. (Or her precious blue dragon egg!)

So watch out, and don't get too close if you like your fingers!

WHAT I'm Reading —Grendel and Beowulf — by C. Gockel

The Coffee House Witch and the Grumpy Cat—by Ariana Jade

This is a really sweet book about a witch whose sapphic relationship has failed and has had to return home.

It's fun, the characters are bright and breezy and Grandma is a real character.

My only issue was the end was abrupt and I felt like the plot didn't quite finish... but that's no problem if you're looking for a serialized larger story.

Herbert and Maisie

Maisie

What can I say? She looks absolutely stunning in this picture. Also she loves our room, we continually have to kick her out to make the bed!

Herbert is here snuggling up to his second favourite blanket. My bad. I stole his favourite one...but he can have it back any moment now. :)

Happy reading,

Fantasy adventure Hi, I hope you’ve had an amazing week and wonderful break over Easter, however you celebrate. I'm looking forward to our family's Easter Sunday egg-cracking tradition. Knocking boiled eggs against each other to see whose egg lasts the longest without cracking. It's a strange but fun tradition my husband's family brought with them from Lithuania almost a century ago. Oh, and, yes, this is the new-look email from KIT. Finally I've managed to get it up and running. I hope you...
