Fantasy adventure

Hi,

I hope you’ve had a great week, we've had sunshine here and I even managed a game of croquet with the family, including my young nephew who is desperate . Now, I'd like to be able to tell you that I channeled either the Queen of Hearts of Alice in Wonderland, but I did completely fail on that point. Oh, what am I talking about, the Cheshire Cat is the person to channel during any game—have fun, smile, and only worry about keeping your head! :)

In writing news, Klanket, the dragon who features in this week's Dragons Out and About, is inveigling himself into my epic fantasy meets steampunk adventure. I seems like my heroes, Torri (inventor) and Capro Goodfellow (Wizard) will have a run for their money as Klanket is cute as the dickens, and a real scene stealer. :)

In more exciting writing news, I finally, finally, finally, got the final Dragon Society book in paperback for you. More on that in a minute.

Yes! Finally! A real live paperback. The complete series can adorn your library shelf. Thank you to everyone who asked when this was coming! It really gave me the impetus to get my head down and get it done!

Dragons out and about — Klanket

You may recognise Klanket. He's been in my newsletters before. Mostly because he loves nothing better than showing off on the mantelpiece. Klanket has been insisting that the dragon in my latest book should be him. After all, as a clockwork dragon, he fits a steampunk world perfectly. It really wasn't the plan, but look how cute he is. Who could resist all that clockwork gorgeousness?

On the other hand, Klanket isn't the bravest of dragons, which is why he sports a protective magical armour that he was given by a wizard back in the early days of the third age.

What I'm reading: A Goblin's Plight by Hannah Steenbock

This book features retired adventurers, innkeepers and unexpected assassins and musicians who form a team of adventurers to protect goblins overrun by giant insects. Think Dungeons and Dragons meets the Bugman from Attack of the Giant Bugs in an epic fantasy setting with a dash of baking. (Mmm baking!) And, yes, I'm reading through some of the books in the cosy adventure promo, that's have caught my eye.

And I love Hannah's writing, so I was keen to read this one. It's a little more adventure than cosy—but a lot more cosy than the darker fantasy Hannah Steenbock normally writes.
